La figlia del serpente
A doctor in 1890 England, in order to cure his wife's "sick mind," injects her with snake venom. She later gives birth to a daughter whom the villagers call "The Devil's Baby" and in a fit of fear they end up burning the family's house down. Years later a Scotland Yard detective is sent to the village to investigate a rash of deaths that are caused by snakebite.

Il mostruoso uomo delle nevi
Nelle lande desolate dell'Himalaya, il botanico inglese John Rollason e sua moglie Helen studiano erbe rare da molti anni. Ai coniugi giunge notizia dell'arrivo prossimo di due loro amici antropologi, Peter Fox e Tom Friend. Gli Helen forniscono subito alcune regole ai loro due amici, ma nella faccenda si intromette il Grande Lhama, che propone alla spedizione di trovare l'inaferrabile Yeti con l'aiuto di due studiosi, Ed Shelley e Andrew McNee. Tutti sono molto scettici riguardo alla creatura, ma McNee è convinto della sua esistenza quando anni or sono sembrò vederla durante una tempesta nevosa. Dopo giorni e giorni di lungo e intenso cammino, i cinque trovano alcune tracce, e istigati da McNee si convincono di procedere...

Cross Channel
Charter-boat owner "Tex" Parker is framed on a murder rap by a gang of jewel-and-American currency smugglers operating from the coasts of England and France, with a mid-channel rendezvous. The smugglers use him, his boat and partner, "Soapy", to carry their goods back and forth across the English. During one of the trips, "Tex" is thrown overboard, but is picked up by a French fishing boat and the fisherman take him back to their village, Porte Soliare, where he meets Jacqueline. People who appear to be quite dead early on turn out to be not dead later on, and money and swag and goods keep changing hands with such regularity that, at one point, one guy is searching for something he already has (and doesn't know it), while another guy isn't searching for it because he thinks he has it...but doesn't.

After building a dam, closing off the Zuiderzee from the sea, it effectively turns the former sea into a lake and the fishermen call it "dead water". They desperately attack the dam with spades and even explosives, culminating in tragedy.
