The title role in the French comedy-fantasy A Martian in Paris is filled by Darry Cowl. The higher-ups in Mars want to learn all about that strange commodity, peculiar to the planet Earth, known as "Love". Darry soon figures out what makes the world go 'round when he meets the gorgeous Nicole Mirel. A Martian in Paris was obviously inspired by the 1960 American comedy A Visit to a Small Planet, which starred Jerry Lewis. Darry Cowl's imitation of Lewis is passable, but it certainly didn't fool the "Le Roi Crazy Jerry" idolators at Cahiers du Cinema and Positif magazine.

A horrific and, on the face of it, incomprehensible murder has just been committed on the unsympathetic person of a loan shark. The victim's body is found lifeless, but the circumstances of his death are far from clear. For want of anything better to go on, the police immediately suspect a penniless gentleman who had the bad idea and misfortune to be present at the time of the crime. The police don't take the time to look for other possible suspects, and are not at the end of their surprises. A dark story seems to lie behind this imbroglio of incoherent facts.

Un film cupo e drammatico, tratto dal romanzo "La madre" di Grazia Deledda e molto rimaneggiato da Suso Cecchi D'Amico, Giuseppe Mangione e dallo stesso Monicelli, realizzato benino da un regista specializzato in commedie.

Da un soggetto di Cesare Zavattini. Dopo molte avventure Alì Babà sposa la schiava del suo padrone. Essendo a conoscenza del nascondiglio di un favoloso bottino vi porta gli amici poveri ma questi, invece di dividerselo serenamente, si azzuffano.
