On Saturday, 5 April 1941, one day before the Invasion of Yugoslavia of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, a colourful group of random passengers on a country road deep in the heart of Serbia board a dilapidated bus, headed for the capital Belgrade. The group includes two gypsy musicians, a World War I veteran, a Germanophile, a budding singer, a sickly looking man, and a hunter with a shotgun. The bus is owned by Krstic senior, and driven by his impressionable and dim-witted son Misko.

Rade is in love with Milica, but her father Marko, a village butcher, does not approve. He wants his son to finish school and leave the village. Marko buys a sick cow from Milica's father, puts a false stamp on it, and sells the meat as if it were healthy. Rade finds out that his father has been doing this for a long time, and so he comes into conflict with him.

A journalist lives his smooth citizen life, married to a woman from respected family. But, conflicts with manager at work are becoming more often, his marriage is unstable and the outer manifestation of all this is a strange skin disease. Doctors recommend resting in nature and self-examination. In the mountains, in a lonely house near the lake, he meets a woman, also unadjusted and lonely. The consequences of this encounter are beneficial. Capable to love again, he gets his moral strength, and disease retreats. He breaks off his contacts with his wife's family and with "petit bourgeois" of his former life, confronts his boss and wins, realizing that this is only a first victory which has straightened him up.

Passeggiando per la città, un giovane fotografo ed un suo collega giornalista sono fortunosamente testimoni di una rapina. Naturalmente i due scattano delle fotografie, ma i criminali se ne accorgono e cominciano a dargli la caccia.

Il protagonista, Avv. Persichetti, è uno psicopatico sessuale, che compensa la sua impotenza coniugale, con successi finanziari immorali, quale presidente di una società petrolifera. La sua psicopatia risale a un trauma infantile, che uno psicanalista cerca di guarire con svariate esperienze erotiche fallimentari. In seguito alla infedeltà della moglie, il protagonista ripete l'esperienza dell'infanzia e diventa un erotomane sino all'aberrazione più anormale.

Impegnato a far luce su un traffico illegale di opere d'arte, l'agente Paul Greville segue un labile indizio che lo conduce in un paese di montagna, nei pressi di una segheria intorno alla quale, a causa della presenza di Anna - una ragazza dal fascino inquietante - gli abitanti del vicino villaggio sussurrano sinistre dicerie. Greville scopre che Huber, proprietario della segheria, è un ex scienziato nazista che, sperimentando farmaci realizzati con il veleno dei ragni, in un impeto di gelosia aveva tentato di uccidere la moglie ottenendo il risultato di renderla eternamente giovane. Anna, l'enigmatica ragazza che si aggira nei boschi e che mostra una singolarissima confidenza con i ragni, è la moglie del vecchio Huber: anche se sembra giovanissima, ha più di 70 anni e nel cuore un tormento indicibile…

He's like a plant that differs from others, an informer who wants to escape out from his skin. This man loves, hates, eats, drinks, lies ill, laughs, cries, kisses, plays... These are agonies of a contemporary man.

Didier is an embarrassed lover and husband when his young mistress, whom he had just left, attempts suicide and is adopted by her family while she recovers. The situation becomes very tense when everyone (husband, wife, children and mistress) goes on vacation together. Didier asks his wife for a divorce after succumbing to his mistress again, but that's not the end of the trouble.

Jutro, l'alba di un giorno

E' un affresco di un particolare momento della storia jugoslava, e la storia del breve tempo che, per un paese della Serbia, intercorre tra la fine vittoriosa della guerra partigiana e l'inizio della pace. Il momento in cui gli uomini, finita la ferocia dei combattimenti, ricercano se stessi per poter ricostruire un "nuovo" ordine sociale ed umano. E' il momento della verità per tutti, che la guerra, anche combattuta per un ideale, non ha reso migliori ma di cui ha acuito speranze, sogni e desideri, insieme coi meno nobili senti-menti di odio, di vendetta o di arrivismo. E' una ricerca confusa, spesso incon-scia, a cui partecipano tutti i protagonisti della vicenda, qualunque sia la loro estrazione sociale.
